As I sit here on Candle’s Boxxx’s couch getting ready for my shoot with her, I’m given pause to think about the whole thing.  Everything that I’m able to do, I’m able to do because of you, my fans and friends.  The life I now lead, the things I’m able to shoot, the people I work with…all because folks like the work that I do with other special people.

I do appreciate everything that you do do me and I intend to continue to produce for you a quality product that you’ll greatly enjoy for your…ahem…”viewing pleasure”.  😉

Yeah, that’s a better emoticon. 🙂 Just came from one of my favorite hangouts on the net, YouTube, and WOW. You know, you think you see some strange stuff here, and then you venture out into the world of “vanilla”…

And they call ***US*** crazy?

It should be known that I do in fact have a “vanilla” channel on YouTube. I thought I’d have time to devote to it, but, sadly, that wasn’t the case. I still have the channel and watch other channels that I’ve favorited…and one that gives me TONS of grins is TheArchfiend.

“Arch” is very opinionated, but in a good way, as I wind up agreeing with him…well, MOST of the time. He speaks his mind and does it well; something rare amongst the many “ranters” on YT. “Ranters”, like Arch, have also showed me some of the sadder sides of humanity…

Take CraftNation, for example. This…person…waits for celebrities to die or tragedies to happen (massive earthquakes…things like that) and then makes one minute to one and a half minute “tribute” videos basically saying that he feels for the victims, and he’s so sorry that it happened, and that his heart goes out to the families involved…yadda, yadda, yadda.

“But, Tolstoy,” you say, “Isn’t that a NOBLE thing? Isn’t that something that’s good and clean and pure???”

It would be if he weren’t making MONEY from death, sorrow and destruction!

YT has the ability for uploaders to “AdSense” their individual videos…meaning, put ADVERTISEMENTS on their videos, and, at about a penny per view, allow the person who uploaded it to CASH IN on a tragedy. So…recently, Mr. Craft made a video about Andy Griffin’s death, rambled for about a minute or so about the passing of this great man, said how sorry he is and such and how much he respected him…and then all he had to do is sit back and wait for the money to come in.

So, why prominent people like Andy Griffin? Because the name is out in the public and is massively popular, and because of the “star power”, he’ll get more views on his videos and thus more MONEY from doing it. “Joe Public” dies? No views… Andy Griffin dies? MANY, and potentially MILLIONS of views, leading to THOUSANDS of dollars in “AdSense” revenue to be made. Disgusting. 🙁

By the way…did you notice the mistakes I made there when I said “Andy GriffIN”??? That’s what Craft did…and went his entire “tribute” video as a “Fan” saying goodbye to “Andy GRIFFIN” instead of Andy Griffith. He also tried to whistle the “Andy Griffith Show” theme song on his video and couldn’t even get CLOSE to it. Pure and total sign that the man is a death profiteer and making money at the expense of Andy’s passing. He wound up removing the video after people made massive sport of him for the mistake, tho several “mirror” uploads have been uploaded to continue to bash the man as he well deserves.

I now dread hearing of the passing of prominent people…Sherman Hemsley (“George Jefferson”) recently passed…wonder how long it’ll be before Mr. Craft of “CraftNation” winds up making a “tribute” video about him and winds up profiting over his passing…and yes, he DID make a video about the Colorado shootings. Truly a disgusting human being who should be removed from YT.

One concept that I heard about from ArchFiend’s videos (Arch was bashing them and doing a brilliant job doing it) was the “e-beggers” and the concept of “e-begging”. ArchFiend opened my eyes to this concept in a brilliant…*several* brilliant rants, actually, against the concept and I completely agree. So, what is “e-begging?” Basically, that would be me making a video saying something to this degree…

 “Oh, wow…see…I just realized something, and I need your guys’ help if I’m gonna survive. See, my vid cam is from, like, the 80’s and is making really poor quality videos these days…and it’s fading fast. But the thing is, I can’t afford to replace it by myself…so, if you guys want to continue to see videos from me, I’m gonna need your help. Please, please, PLEASE contribute to the cause of getting me a new video camera by clicking on the PayPal link off to the left…”

Now, look. My vid cam is ***FINE***…I was just using that as an example. Matter of fact, I recently upgraded my vid cam and am now producing some great HD videos. On top of that, when I saw that my old camera WAS getting old, I took it upon myself to fix the problem. It’s not the responsibility of the fans to look after the equipment of the producer…that’s OUR jobs. Sadly, that’s what these “e-beggars” do.

It’s like they’re taking advantage of their fame…using their fame to get fans to feel sorry for them and make their lives easier for them by giving them money for no real cause. “My computer is dying…click on the PayPal link to the left to help out…” Sick and disgusting.

In conclusion, as a “perv”, I find the whole YouTube culture FASCINATING. From Jessi Slaughter to Ericc Douglace to CraftNation and all the idiots in between…thanks, you assholes…for making a total perv like me feel “normal”. 😉
